Josh: What’s on the agenda now?
Ted: We’re supposed to be looking at the possibilities of obtaining some funding from the EU for these two new projects.
Josh: Meaning are we
Ted: I can see you did your homework.
Josh: You bet, our head of department has been bragging us about this entire meeting for months. Can you believe it, he almost gave us a test from the principles of development policy making!
Ted: Good thing he didn’t, I guess. Think there’s any point in even looking for this type of money?
Josh: Well, it seems that we meet the basic criteria. The company is no natural person, nor is it an organizational unit with legal capacity granted under an act. But we sure are a legal person, therefore we can apply to become a unit implementing projects financed from the state budget. But what is at stake here is implementing projects financed from foreign sources, on the basis of an agreement on co-financing.
Ted: Gosh, you sure did your homework all right. Can you give it to me in plain English? Or should I start talking about shafts and lubrication regime?
Josh: Oh no, please, be gentle with me. It basically means that we’re generally eligible to become a beneficiary. Hush, the meeting’s starting.
